Lamborghini Enters the World of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)

After a number of social media posts hinting at it, Italian supercar-maker Lamborghini has finally revealed its first NFT (non-fungible token) project. Space Key was developed in collaboration with a non-publicized artist, and based on cutting-edge carbon fiber composite materials that were sent to the International Space Station as research material, is a new project which was announced by Lamborghini.

The Space Key is made of a carbon composite material that Lamborghini as part of a research project in 2019 and sent to the International Space Station. The core of each Space Key is a block of carbon fire composite material, which was sent to the International Space Station in 2019 as part of a research program. After returning to Earth, it was engraved with an QR code that connects it to the digital element of the Space Key.

Each of the five Space Keys will feature a distinct moment that happens seconds apart as the Lamborghini Ultimae lifts off toward the stars. Over 600 million pixels make up each of the five images which were taken by photographer Fabian Oefner.

Oefner utilized a balloon with a camera that captured each of the individual shots which were then merged into the final image. The result is an out of this world photograph that captures both the beauty of the Earth and the futuristic, hyper-realistic picture of the car rising from it. The Space lambo keys will be auctioned off in the near future, but the exact date and time of the auction hasn't been announced yet.
