The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

Whether you've got carpet with a high or low pile there's a robotic vacuum for you. These smart devices will navigate your home in a way that is automated clean up debris and clean under furniture.

Many of them have advanced features, such as mapping, robot mop And vacuum combo which helps them navigate your home and remember furniture place. They also can increase the suction power to clean up surfaces that are dirtier.

iRobot Roomba 694"

The Roomba by iRobot is a budget-friendly robot vacuum that performs well on both bare flooring and floor carpets with a low pile. It has a decent suction and can clean all kinds of debris, but it struggles with larger particles like sand or rice. It is effective in cleaning pet hair, but isn't as strong against knots as premium Roomba models like the j7 and I6.

The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has a trio of buttons on its cover: 'Clean' launches the cleaning process and 'Dock' allows it to be put back into its charging station, and 'Spot Clean' triggers an targeted clean. It can be controlled via a smartphone application that allows you to schedule cycles, stop/start them, and alter settings. You can also connect it with smart home devices like Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

It comes with a large dust bin that is ideal to reduce the frequency at which you need to empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which lets you program the robot to stay out of certain areas, or even stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from becoming stuck.

It's not the best in its price, but it's still better than the majority of other options. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning efficiency than the Roomba 694, and it can clean both carpets with a low pile and bare. It also follows an efficient cleaning route and has longer battery life. It also feels better-made, has fewer parts that need regular maintenance, is less expensive to own over the course of its life, and charges faster than the 694.

It's also worth looking at other models that are more expensive in the iRobot line, like the 981 or the v7. They're more expensive, but they offer significant improvements over the 694 in terms of cleaning efficiency on both low- and bare floors, use an efficient cleaning path and have a larger dirt compartment, are more efficient to charge, can move more easily, and are more easy to connect to smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This self-emptying robot with a budget does a good job on hard floors as well as low-pile carpet. Its combinator brush gets to corners and edges and automatically boosts suction once it senses carpet. It is also effective at cleaning dirt and debris that are embedded in carpets that are mid-pile. The IQ's tiny footprint for docks and its self-emptying feature are both nice features. However, if you wish to change floor levels on the map or set no-go zones, you'll need to manually reset it in order to do so, which is somewhat of a hassle.

The IQ app comes with advanced mapping and automated features, however it does not have no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigational system results in greater maneuverability, and its high-pile carpet mode cleans well, but it is prone to get caught up in rug tassels. Its iHome speaker allows you to control the robot with voice commands.

During our tests, we discovered that the IQ handled pet hair with ease. It was able to remove lots of debris on floors that were unfinished and a decent amount of medium-pile rug. It was less effective with shag carpets, as it struggled to get at dirt and dust embedded within the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces, and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. We did notice that it was a bit slower on floors with no flooring, but it regained speed and performed more thoroughly than other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better choice for the majority of users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dust bin, lasts longer on a charge and is more capable of moving itself around obstacles. It also has mopping attachments that can handle sticky messes. The iRobot is, however, is better built and has less components that require replacement or maintenance, incurs less cost per year, and can create virtual no-go zones with its companion application. It can continue cleaning the point it started, even if the battery runs out before it finishes. The iRobot can be controlled by voice, which is a major benefit for many users.

The RoboVac 11S by eufy isn't exactly the most feature-rich robot vacuum on the market but it does provide excellent cleaning power at an affordable price. It's designed for those who don't require a complicated mapping system or an app to control the device. The robot can run for up to an hour and comes with the remote, a cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

The 11S is slim, elegant and has a tempered glass upper deck that resembles polished aluminum. It's a nice stylistic contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more practical and industrial.

In our tests, the eufy11S was excellent at picking up larger debris and fine dust on hard flooring. However, it struggled to provide medium and high pile carpets a thorough clean. The device is capable to hit furniture and people along its route. However, it is able detect obstacles with sensors. If it encounters them it stops and lets out a loud sound so you can manually guide it around the obstacle and get it back to work.

The BoostIQ mode is another great feature of the Eufy11S. It allows you to set the robot up to automatically adjust the suction force based on the type of floor and the amount of dirt. The remote control makes it easy to direct the 11S to your desired place.

Single Room Mode is a great option if you have little furniture in the space you want to vacuum. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

You can also opt for Edge Cleaning, which reduces the time spent in each location to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner by cleaning edges and corners.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister Robot Mop And Vacuum Combo is a fantastic mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on bare floors is also impressive. It can remove rice and other small particles easily. The suction power doesn't drop as the dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed, allergy-friendly design snuff out allergens, keeping your family healthy. It comes with an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin so you don't need any additional filters or vacuum bags.

It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's still ideal for fighting stains and deep cleaning. It has two front cameras which provide a live feed to your smartphone. It also comes with one of the most advanced obstacle avoidance systems. It comes with a large bin, a long running time and an easy, bump-free clean-up.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots because it can switch between the standard head and turbo to suit different types of flooring. The turbo head is great for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead can be used on bare floors and lightweight rugs. It also has an automatic height adjustment system which allows it to easily adapt to different kinds of flooring without manual adjustments.

This model comes bundled with a SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle both hard floors and carpeting with a medium pile. The powerhead is also easy to move and can be used to reach difficult areas. It comes with five levels of surface adjustments and an off-brush switch to prevent hairs from getting tangled.

The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll as well as an UtraClean mode that moves across the same area three times to give the most thorough cleaning, and a self-emptying dustbin which can be filled with the touch of one button. Its sound level is a little higher than that of other models however its powerful 1,200-watt motor and sturdy build make it worth the extra expense.

If you don't mind spending an extra amount, the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a great all-around robot vacuum for stairs vacuum. It is more effective on carpets than the Classic C1. It is more effective on any type of flooring, is more solidly constructed, and comes with a HEPA filter.
