Twilight Princess Game Review

The most dark and serious of the Nintendo 3D Zelda games, Twilight Princess pushes the limits of graphic presentation to its limit on the Wii's hardware. It's darker and more unsettling than The Wind Waker. There aren't any bug-eyed pigs, nor effeminate Pirates.

Link is dragged into a dimension that is called Twilight Realm, where he takes the form of an Hylian and a wolf, while being guided by Midna.

Gameplay

The thirteenth installment in The Legend of Zelda is Twilight Princess. It was released for Nintendo GameCube and Wii systems in the year 2006. The game was highly acclaimed by critics and received top scores from various publications, including 1UP, CVG, EGM, and GamesRadar. Many consider it to be the most enjoyable game in the series and also the most well-known Zelda game on the PAL market.

Twilight Princess features a stylized, naturalistic style of graphics that is similar to Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask and Ocarina of Time, but with a more sophisticated graphical engine. It's the first game in the series with a fully directional movement control scheme, instead of a fixed view like the previous games. This modification was made to accommodate the Wii console's pointing-based interface. The GameCube version comes with a section at the back of the game with mirror-image maps, for those who prefer an image that is fixed.

After entering the Twilight Realm, Link is transformed into a wolf, and then meets Midna, an unidentified creature. She reveals to Link that the kingdom of Hyrule is now under the control of a group shadow beasts, led by the evil sorcerer Zant. She further explains that she is the real ruler of Twili, but was usurped and cursed into her present form by Zant.

When Link and Midna arrive at Hyrule Castle, a short cut scene shows the soldiers being killed by the shadow creatures. Link and Midna then escape the castle via an escape tunnel that leads to the Twilight Realm.

In the Twilight Realm, Link can utilize his wolf-like form to move more freely in the world. Additionally, he can use his senses to navigate around the world. For instance, he could sense the spirits of dead soldiers and other animals that are in the distance. Link can also pull grass from specific patches and whistle using it to summon an animal, like the Hawk or Epona. Or, Link can howl near these patches to summon the same animal.

As with earlier Zelda games music plays a major role in Twilight Princess. Link can use instruments like the flute or harp, to draw and summon animals. He can also use his voice to command the wolf's form. Additionally, he can use his compass to guide him around the world and avoid getting lost.

Characters

The Legend of Zelda is full of unique and colorful characters that leave a lasting impression. These quirky and creative personalities that emerge from toilets to pirates soaring across vast oceans are the essence of this game. Twilight Princess continues the tradition of previous games by introducing a wide range of memorable characters.

Throughout the story, Link meets new NPCs who are not just intriguing, but also plausible. It's a huge step towards the right direction that many of these NPCs actually play a role in the story instead of simply being there as victims. NPCs like Rusl who explains that the forest is more dangerous now and kidnaps kids, or the Ordon villager who disguises himself as a wolf when the kids are kidnapped each has their own unique personality.

Other notable characters include Iza who runs the Boat Rental Cabin as well as Iza's Rapid Ride in the Lanayru Province, Louise, Telma's cat who helps Wolf Link locate a secret passageway through her bar as well as sewer system that leads to the castle, and Faron who's spirit guides Link and Midna to the Forest Temple in the Eldin Province. The two team members defeat the Fused Shadow possessed by Diababa and obtains the first Tear of Light.

Midna is the princess of the Twilight Realm and one of the most interesting characters in the game. She possesses a fragment of the Triforce of Wisdom and can switch between her human as well as her wolf-like form. She befriends Link and tells him about her experience in the twilight, and how she defeated Zant, the King of Twilight.

Zant who holds the other part of the Triforce of Wisdom, is a wicked sorcerer, the ruler of the Twilight Realm. He was banished to the Twilight Realm by the goddesses for encroaching on their land and enslaving the people. Zant's magic enables him to remain in wolf form, however Midna eliminates the power and allows him to transform into his human form whenever needed.

Epona is a better horse that can be ridden in both the wolf and Hylian forms. Link can whistle at certain areas of grass to summon the animal (similar to Majora's Mask). The player can identify the horse which makes Twilight Princess the first time in the series that the player can customize their own horse.

Theme

Music is among the most important parts of any Zelda game and can make the world feel huge, epic, and engrossing. However, Twilight Princess is criticized for its erratic and inconsistent soundtrack that fails to convey the emotional impact of certain scenes. Contrastingly, Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask have captivating music that blossom at exactly the right time to create a feeling of majestic and eerie.

Twilight Princess was composed by Asuka Ohta and Toru Minegishi. Koji Kondo, the composer of the series' first since Wind Waker was responsible for overseeing the composers. The soundtrack for Twilight Princess is a radical departure from the usual approach to the show, with a a minimalistic approach to melody and arrangements. The majority of themes for dungeons and fields begin with one instrument, creating a hypnotic and mysterious ambiance for the player. Midna's Lament, for example, uses a simple keyboard to create a sense of sadness in the player.

The most prominent examples are dungeon themes that have a dark and sombre atmosphere. This is particularly evident in Twilight Realm, which has an dark soundscape that could be heard on the soundtrack of a David Lynch movie. The lack of melody and the conventional arrangement of this track enhances its ominous, unsettling nature. Drones and odd patterns intertwine to create a bleak texture.

Link's song from his hometown, "Faron Woods," is a more upbeat and joyful song. The song makes use of a variety of strings and soft sounds to create a calm and secure experience for the player. The song also contains subtle references to the franchise's most famous scene, with the riff which is similar to the famous tune that plays at the start of Ocarina of Time.

There are also a few dynamic songs in Twilight Princess that change depending on where the player is and what they're doing, and what's happening. Hyrule Castle Town has different versions of its theme for each part of the town. Central Square, for instance, has a more raucous version. These variations add a great touch to the world of Hyrule that adds a sense of immersion and depth.

Story

Link's goal in Twilight demo starlight princess is to save Hyrule from the corrupted world known as the Twilight Realm. To achieve this, Link takes on the forms of the Hylian and a Wolf and is aided by a woman named Midna.

Midna is the first ruler of the Twili, but she was usurped by Zant and cursed to her imp form. Link and Midna are informed by the Sages of the Old Testament that only defeating Ganondorf will be in a position to release them from their curse. The Sages reveal that the Mirror of Twilight is the source of the darkness that exists in the Twilight Realm. Midna and Link journey to the Spirit's Spring where they encounter hostile creatures that kidnap kids. Wolf Link's keen ear assists them in tracking children's scent to a nearby bridge and then cross into the Twilight Realm.

They enter the Forest Temple and battle Diababa, obtaining the first Fused Shadow. Following this, Faron informs them that the next stop is Eldin Province to the west (Wii) or east (GCN).

Midna at the Lakebed Temple of Lanayru teleports Link to a fiery rock and unleashes her power on the ice beneath Lake Hylia. Rutela's spirit, the recently deceased Zora queen appears to Link and tells Link that he must visit the Lakebed Temple if he wants to unlock the treasure of Zora.

Returning from Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, the horse Epona is able to be ridden in Twilight slot demo princess gacor. In contrast to the set name used in the two previous games, Link can now decide the name of the horse himself.

When they arrive in the Twilight Realm, Midna and Link take back the remaining Mirror Shards. In the Palace of Twilight, the Sages declare that Midna is actually the real ruler of the Twili however she had been overlooked by the monarchy and turned to an idol for power. The Sages also tell them that the only way to defeat Ganondorf is to bring him to the light and break the pact between Twilight and Hyrule kingdoms.
