Coaxial cables have concentric layers of electrical conductors and insulating material. A dielectric layer made of an insulating material with well-defined electrical characteristics surrounds the wire. A shield layer then surrounds the dielectric layer with metal foil or braided copper mesh. Another layer of insulation surrounds both the inner and outer channels. The first of the two channels controls the coarse (256 steps for the whole range of movement) and the second the fine (256 steps for each coarse step), this gives a 16-bit value range of 65536 steps, what is control cable permitting much greater accuracy for any 16-bit controlled parameter such as Pan or Tilt.
