iRobot Combo Essential Cleaner Review

While iRobot has rolled out plenty of innovations over the past few years, the Combo Essential is the first robot in its line-up that focuses on cleaning basics. It has a sleek, smart design and a mop that works well.

iRobot OS allows you to start cleaning, stop and schedule it directly from the app. It also provides customized suggestions, maps/obstacle-avoidance pictures and provides suggestions based on your preferences (opt-in). The Clean Base autofill dock charges the batteries, empty the trash bin, and refills water tanks.

What is the Roomba Combo Essential?

This robot mop that doubles as a vacuum is powered by iRobot OS and comes with various cleaning products. It allows customers to accomplish two tasks using a single device. It has intelligent navigation, three levels of powerful suction, and up to 120 minutes of battery life. iRobot is the market leader in the smart irobots vacuum cleaner/mopping market, and the Combo J9+ is built on this legacy. It is rated as having the best dirt and dust collection performance, and features an intelligent mopping solution that is powered by the latest irobot vacuum and mop combo OS. This latest software gives robots "smart cleaning preferences" and allows them to automatically clean rooms based on the requirements of the room. For instance, they may focus more on the kitchen floor and increase the pressure on the floor scrubber when in the entryway, or increase the suction power of carpeted areas.

The j9+ also makes the perfect choice for homes with a variety of flooring types, since it is able to pick up dirt and other debris on carpeted floors and bare floors. Its navigation system was solid and it stayed clear of obstacles in our tests. It also has a feature that lets you see images of objects it encounters while running. This allows it to create better maps and avoid these hazards going forward.

Its mops are easy to replace, and it comes with an enormous water tank that should keep it going for about one month between refills. It's also extremely effective at keeping floors clean even with high-pile carpeting. PrecisionVision Navigation lets the robot avoid obstacles such as cords and shoes.
