Which Lightweight Double Pushchair Should You Buy?

It's easy to move around in a lightweight double pushchair, particularly if you have children of different age groups. They're generally easy to fold, steer, and carry up and down the stairs.

Side-by-Side

The majority of light double pushchairs we've tested are side-by-side models and they're generally best for children who can sit up on their own, as these models tend to be lacking car seat integration. However, the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double and the Baby Trend Sit 'N Stand Double are both excellent options that offer adjustable recline in both seats, a large canopy, and padded 5-point harnesses. They are also easy to move around, despite their larger footprint. They are great for parents who worry about getting through doors.

The Cybex Duet pushchair is unique because of its clever frame that can be expanded to allow for a second child seat. This makes it slimmer than other pushchairs that are side-by-side. It is able to fit through standard doors and is easy to maneuver on public transportation. It's also a jogger, which is great news when you're planning to use it in conjunction with baby carriers or a car seat. It's also available in a variety of exciting colors.

Another excellent side-by-side lightweight double is the UPPAbaby Vista v2 Double, which allows for even more flexibility and customization thanks to its modular frame. Tandem

While side-by-side models are more suitable for siblings of the same age, tandem lightweight double pushchairs offer their own perks. They tend to be more spacious and easier to access and exit from, although their baskets tend to be smaller than those of single buggies. They often have larger sized canopies with peekaboo windows as well as a parent cup holder and padding for the legs of young children.

The carrycot can't be folded while it's attached. However, the mechanism to attach and remove the carrycot is simple and quick.

Tandem lightweight double pushchairs will generally make more precise turns than side-by-side models, but they can be more challenging to drive over bumps and uneven surfaces. They are also a little slower to accelerate and can be heavier to move, which can result in strain on your back.

A convertible double buggy is a different option. It is initially a single but you can also add adapters to make it double. It can also have a second seat, carrycot or both in the front. The children can share a seat. Some also have the option to add a buggy board, which could help an older child keep up with a younger sibling.

This iCandy model is very easy to fold using a one-handed system. It's heavier than other single-to double pushchairs, but our home test Karolina says it's capable of maneuvering even with two toddlers inside and the carrycot.

Our test panel found that the seats to be comfortable for toddlers, with excellent lumbar support and headrests. There are many options to recline the seats, with the front seat adjustable in different positions and the back seat having the option of recline.

This type of buggy comes with the main disadvantage of being larger than the side-by-side doubles. This makes it difficult to navigate through doorways and it isn't easy to maneuver between kerbs. However the suspension and wheels on these models generally are capable of handling paved surfaces, and the fact that they're generally lighter than the side-bysides means that you still have a decent amount of storage space. It's important to keep in mind that these strollers aren't as adept at navigating narrow aisles in supermarkets and aren't able to cope with a lot of shopping. It's easier to turn them around even on the smallest of curving paths, but even this can be difficult. Some are more easy to turn than other, such as the Thule Urban Glide 2 Double or the Baby Trend Sit N' Stand double buggy sale.

Convertible

The benefit of convertible cheap double buggy pushchairs is the ability to adapt to the changing family requirements. Its surprisingly light weight (about the same as a few single pushchairs) makes it a breeze to maneuver. Many users praise the clever way it attaches the second seat or riding board at the back. Parents also loved the fact that it can accommodate infant carriers and car seat from multiple brands. This includes those that aren't normally compatible with other double buggies.
